In February 2025, CGON hosted its annual event at CHUM in Montreal on February 24 and 25, drawing over 90 registrants. The two-day gathering featured a half-day workshop and was framed by the thought-provoking theme, "What is Canada's Role?" This theme set the stage for dynamic sessions and discussions on how Canada's contributions in research, education, advocacy, and policy can shape the future of cancer care. The event served as an invaluable platform for both national and international stakeholders to share insights, explore innovative strategies, and enhance collaboration aimed at improving support for patients and their families.

In December 2023, the University of Calgary hosted a hybrid workshop aimed at fostering collaboration and dialogue across the cancer care continuum. The event attracted 74 registrants from 14 countries, providing a platform to discuss initiatives in research, education, advocacy, and policy. This gathering played a significant role in enhancing international cooperation and knowledge exchange, ultimately improving cancer care and support for patients and their families.

In December 2022, McGill University hosted a hybrid workshop. The event brought together leaders in oncology and global health, fostering collaboration and dialogue on initiatives across research, education, advocacy, and policy in the cancer care continuum. By connecting experts from various fields, this workshop contributed to advancements in cancer care both nationally and globally.

In December 2021, Queen’s University successfully organized and hosted the Canadian Global Oncology Workshop, attracting over 150 participants from various countries. This virtual event took place over two days, fostering a vibrant and engaging environment for attendees to share knowledge, ideas, and experiences in the field of global oncology.

In December 2020, the Princess Margaret Global Cancer Program and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer proudly hosted the inaugural Canadian Global Oncology Workshop. This event gathered 112 participants from around the world for a dynamic virtual workshop, designed to foster collaboration and dialogue on key initiatives across the cancer care continuum.
