Dr. Gina Ogilvie

Dr. Gina Ogilvie is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Global Control of HPV related diseases and prevention and a Professor in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia. She is also a Senior Public Health Scientist at the BC Centre for Disease Control and Associate Director of the Women’s Health Research Institute. Her work focuses on both the public health and clinical aspects of reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections, HPV screening and vaccination and cervical cancer. Her research is based in implementation science and the generation and application of evidence-based health innovations in these fields globally. With over 250 peer reviewed publications, her findings have been highly influential in policy making in Canada and internationally. She has provided consultation to institutions at all levels, including the Canadian Partnership to Cancer, Public Health Agency of Canada, the World Health Organization and Ministries of Health on STI, HIV and HPV vaccination and programming. Dr. Ogilvie is Principal Investigator (PI) on several research grants and has received funding from organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Public Health Agency of Canada and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. Among other research projects, she is the PI of the ASPIRE program, a global health initiative conducting research and providing women -centered, innovative solutions for cervical cancer prevention and reproductive health in sub-Saharan Africa.
