Dr. Diana Romero

Diana Romero is a Biochemist by training. She obtained a PhD from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 2005 and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher for almost 10 years, first in the USA at Maine Medical Center Research Institute and then in the UK at Imperial College London. As a researcher, her main interest was cell signalling in cancer: she studied the role of the TGFβ and Wnt signalling pathways in pancreatic and prostate cancer progression. In 2015, she decided to take a more active role in science communication and joined Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology as an Associate Editor, becoming Chief Editor of the journal in 2017. She enjoys handling articles discussing the importance of tumour biology in treatment outcomes, as well as those discussing regulatory and societal aspects associated with cancer treatment. Another aspect of her work that she is passionate about is interacting with early career researchers.
